One Man Who Planted Trees Project in Ngatataek-Kajiado County
Kajiado County is predominantly a semi-arid area, with livestock rearing as the main economic activity. Water shortage has been a challenge for a long time where the County receives low rainfall, meaning there is a prolonged dry season. Most rivers, dams, and springs are seasonal therefore when there is a prolonged dry season it has a direct impact on the local community.

School feeding
In most parts of the Country, most school-going children go to school on an empty stomach, which weighs heavily on their concentration and ability to learn.
School feeding programs can help to address many of these challenges. This is a game changer that improves the children’s education, health, and nutrition. Kenya Good Neighbors endeavors to guarantee quality education to underprivileged children through feeding programs and material support and improving the condition of facilities to provide a conducive learning environment for the children.

Vertical gardening is changing the narrative on food production positively. This is a perfect solution for school gardens and home gardens. Kenya Good Neighbors supported a children’s home in Ruiru by establishing 15 gardens (Cones). This will help to mitigate food scarcity in children’s home. This technology uses less water, does not require much work in maintenance, and takes a short period to be ready for consumption.
