GNI is an international humanitarian and development NGO in general consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN-ECOSOC) established in 1991. We provide help and expertise through relief and development projects in the areas of education, health service, income generation, local community mobilization, child rights protection, and sustainable development projects. GN Kenya is seeking transparent, passionate and qualified candidate to fill the position of FINANCE OFFICER.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate financial records and accounting systems
• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports
• Manage donor funds in line with grant agreements
• Track restricted and unrestricted funds
• Prepare and monitor project budgets
• Conduct bank reconciliations
• Manage payroll and statutory deductions (PAYE, SHIF, NSSF, Housing Levy)
• Ensure compliance with KRA requirements
• Maintain asset registers
• Support internal and external audits
• Strengthen internal financial controls Donor Compliance Responsibilities
• Ensure adherence to donor regulations and financial guidelines
• Prepare expenditure reports aligned to donor budgets
• Maintain grant records and supporting documentation
• Facilitate donor audits and financial reviews
• Ensure funds are utilized for approved activities only
• Flag budget risks and non-compliance early Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
• CPA (K) or ACCA qualification preferred
• At least 3 years INGO accounting experience
• Experience handling donor-funded projects
• Knowledge of Kenyan tax laws and NGO regulations
• Attention to detail and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Have proficient in Computer application skills.
• Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
